HUNTED: { Wedding Venues – Luxury Country Houses }

I don’t hunt wedding venues very often. Probably because there are so many licensed venues up and down the lands that it would be a list of thousands.

To date, I’ve given you inspiration if you’re looking for a more unusual wedding venue. What, though, if you’re not looking for something unusual. What if you’re just looking for an absolutely ginormous classic stately home to set the scene for your day?.

As ever, I heed your cried and get on my hunting horse. Below you will find yourself examples of the best in UK Luxury Country Houses, in case you want to get married in extravagant style.

UK Country Home Venues Premium

In the UK it doesn’t come much bigger or more prestigious than Chatsworth House, in the heart of the Peak District. The venue was famously used as the backdrop to Pride and Prejudice; although Grooms shouldn’t take this as a green flag to throw yourself in the lake and emerge “Darcy style.” Set in 105 acres of garden including sculptures, a farmyard and playground, Chatsworth has been the home of bona fide English royalty. Despite the enormity of the venue, the size of wedding they cater for is surprisingly modest – a maximum of 90 for a ceremony, with up to 150 for a reception. Still, expect to receive a 5* service in terms of wining and dining. Also expect a 5* price, although that goes without saying throughout this hunt.

Moving further south, we have Babington House in Somerset. Only opened since 1998, its purpose is to cater for those who love life’s luxuries, but want to enjoy them in the tranquility of the countryside. The 18 acre estate can comfortably accommodate a wedding party, having a chapel on-site as well as the many facilities of the House and gardens itself. Your wedding day there will necessitate your guests using all 32 of their bedrooms, but frankly, who’s going to complain about that.

UK Premium Wedding Venues South

And finally, nestled in the Sussex Countryside, we have Goodwood House. Home of Glorious Goodwood Racing,  and the vintage Goodwood Revival event, this scene of many spectacular parties can also host your wedding day. Set in no less than 12,000 acres of countryside, this wedding venue has both luxury and privacy tuned to the very maximum.

  3. If you still want the extravagance of a country estate, but for a little less money, you might want to consider some of the great country cottages that are available as holiday lets. You can let it out for the week and hold the entire event there. It’s a wonderful budget conscious alternative!

    • Thanks … I imagine that country estates are out of budget range for the majority of couples … so a wallet friendly alternative is always useful to find
