HUNTED : { Wedding Music : Scottish Bagpipes }

Excerpt from “On the Bagpipes” :

When Scotland’s pipe sounds in my ears
My heart with martial joy it cheers;
From off my mind all worldly cares
It makes to roll,
And sways at will to joy or tears,
My melting soul.

When it comes to music for your wedding, alongside thoughts around ceremony songs and evening entertainment, you might also want to pitch a musical interlude in at other key moments.

For example : I had a friend’s band (very convenient to have musical friends) playing a jazz set post ceremony whilst guests were enjoying drinks & canapes. It turned out to be a fantastic choice to keep the mood going and provide a funky backdrop to guest chatter.

Wedding Ideas Music Bagpipes Piper

If you don’t have the luxury of jazz band owning amigos to hand, you can lean on all sorts of musical suppliers. I’ve already suggested ideas for a harpist to you. Next comes the turn of the bonnie piper. Traditionally the choice for those with Celtic leanings, a good piper should turn up in smart tartan and add a sense of occasion to the proceedings. Take a look at the site of someone like Dave Allan to see if it would suit your day.

Have you been to a wedding with bagpipes?
