HUNTED: { Wedding Accessories – Feather Fascinators & Hats }

Fascinators. A byword for head accessories of some substantial size that attach to your hair and are most commonly seen at weddings or the races. Most commonly they feature feathers, flowers or beads although frankly anything goes. This hunt straddles the line between bridal and guest attire. It’s one of the few times a hunt could apply to either party, although bridal choices will likely tend towards the subtler end.

I know some men who are scared of fascinators. It’s somewhat irrational but I can also appreciate how some of the more outlandish choices some ladies go for are terrifying. This particular hunt focuses on those of the feather variety, throwing a hat in for good measure and keeps away from hair horrors.  Menfolk – you are fine to look.

Inspiration Fascinators Bridal Feather White Flower

First up, a hybrid between fascinator and hat in white, featuring flowers and veiling via BDi design. The styling in this image looks distinctly bridal, but due to customisable colour options guests could tailor it to their outfit scheme (assuming no guest has gone for white – a cardinal wedding sin).

Peacock Fascinator Wedding

If all that white is too subtle for your tastes, go the opposite end of the spectrum with this fantastical peacock feather design via the quite extraordinary Esemee Fascinators.

Inspiration Wedding Guest Fascinator Red Feather

Weddings are expensive – and not just for the couple, generally for the guests too. If you’re a wedding guest trying to economise a little this red feather headband above via The Little Things in Life is fantastic value. Other colour choices also available.

Fascinator Hair Accessories Feather Black Wedding

If you’d rather just buy a simple clip for flexibility of hair placement, you can find ones like this black and red feather number from House of Fraser.

Luxury Bridal Hairband Wedding Vintage Feather 1920s

If your style is vintage, or taking inspiration from Swan Lake, and you have some money to spend take a look at this stunning Feather Headdress from Hermione Harbutt. With swarovski crystal, ivory pearls and overarching goose feathers it’s an absolute showstopper.

Wedding Guest Attire Hat Feathers Beautiful Neutral

Late in the post, and I did promise hats.  Have a look at this classic, elegant design from Madeleine Millinery. From their “Marylebone” collection it’s got a quintessential English quality that would fit nicely into a royal wedding. The colours would also suit many an outfit.

Feather hats and fascinators – hunted.

Which of these catches your eye? Or are you one of those men who finds fascinators frightening?
