HUNTED: { Wedding Music – Funk / Pop Band }

HUNTED: { Wedding Music – Funk / Pop Band }

Wedding Music is not a simple thing to hunt. For one thing, there are a plethora of musical options out there to suit all tastes, making it an extremely subjective category, and for another, inspiration is based on sound rather than sight. I can show you images of musicians until the cows come home, but that’s not likely to aid your decision making process. Further, like the category of venues, your choice of music may be heavily influenced by who’s available in your geography. And at this stage I don’t keep a  comprehensive list by area. Sorry.

What I can help you with is an exploration of genres to help you with musical direction.  Enter the musical stylings of “Funk/Pop” bands. Even to the musical novice Funk/Pop is a genre that is easy to decipher (as opposed to, say, Blackened Death Metal or Neo-Psychedelia). You’re going to get James Brown, Stevie Wonder and a little bit of posthumous Amy Winehouse. The very good news about this repertoire is you’ll find guests of all ages on the dance floor all night. The same probably cannot be said of Country Truck Driving Music.

If you’d like to take a listen to the style, I can point you in the direction of the onomatopoeic “Oomphf.” Notionally based in Brighton, their online demos will give you a good flavour of whether this is your kind of music.

To add my musical two-penneth, I think funk-pop is an excellent wedding genre choice – not embarrassingly cheesy, and popular with all.

But is this music to your taste? Or are you planning something more musically extreme?
