HUNTED: { Wedding Stationery – Couture Stationery }

HUNTED: { Wedding Stationery – Couture Stationery }

The UK is crippled by public sector strikes. The Euro is going down the pan. We’re quite clearly on the brink of a recession double dip abyss. And yet. And yet. I come to my little site and find people searching for couture wedding stationery ideas.

What does it all mean?

Well for starters, “couture” literally means “to sew together” and is indicative of any item which suggests the style and quality of a fashion designer.

What this means, then, is that despite what may be going on in the wider economy, that:

1 – People are still getting married.

2 – Some of these persons would still like their wedding day to feel like it could be worthy of a spread in Vogue magazine.

To these persons – I salute you. And in your honour, I’ve hunted five examples of wedding stationery that could happily make themselves at home in Harvey Nicks.

First up, from the fabulous House of Sugalily we have Union Jack motif design stationery. Ever since Ginger Spice wore an obscenely short Union Jack dress during the Spice Girls iconic 1997 Brit Awards performance, the flag has been cool again. Follow in the footsteps of Ms Halliwell, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith et all by incorporating the design into your day.

Same designer, completely different design. Come over all Cath Kidston with pastel pinks and blues in your invites.

If your couturiere of choice is a little racier – I’m thinking Agent Provocateur, or under the influence of Dita von Teese – then consider invites accompanied by ribbon and chantilly lace. These are via Hill Wedding Stationery. In the words of Ms Teese : “I advocate glamour. Every day. Every minute.”

Still with the same designer, we move to a more Liberty Print-esque floral design.

Last up in the hunt we have delicate egg-shell blue stationery that directly channels that most coveted of jeweller’s – Tiffanys. Whether your ring was from there or not, your wedding invites via The Wedding Invitation Boutique can suggest it’s all you wear.

Couture Stationery, you are now officially hunted, and I’ve been inspired to have a little browse through Net-a-Porter. Well, it is nearly Christmas.
